What should I expect during my liposuction procedure?
At NYWC, a liposuction procedure will begin with the injection of a local anesthetic and a diluted epinephrine solution into the treatment area. After these solutions have been injected, Dr. Goffi will make a small incision, through which fat will be removed. A special tube called a cannula will be inserted through the incision and into the fat layer of the area being treated. With the help of a suction device or syringe, the excess fat will be extracted. Patients can expect to return home shortly after the procedure takes place, allowing 24-48 hours for recovery. It’s important to note that a thorough consultation pre-op appointment will take place prior to your liposuction procedure to assess your health history and blood work and to discuss what to expect during and post-procedure.
